Osage County is beautiful and this area is a great example of that. This area is a wide-open place and surrounded by fields. There are lots of flowers and sitting areas on the corner lot where the house used to be. It’s now a small park area and walking distance from the museum. It was an old house that was already falling down and the movie production rebuilt parts of the house for the film knowing they would eventually knock it down for the finale along with several blocks of the main street in Wakita. It’s small but it’s very personable and chock full of fun 90s nostalgia. Make sure to check the hours of the museum and don’t be afraid to call to make sure what the hours are. The amount of behind-the-scenes information and memorabilia in the museum is really cool! The crew really took Wakita under its arm and embraced this small town and it’s evident in the fans, cast, and photos in the museum.
